Our History
Hyakuten Ianamoto
|
Komyo ReikiDo (formerly Komyo Reiki Kai) was founded in Kyoto, Japan in 1998. The founder is Hyakuten Inamoto, a Pure Land (Jodo Shu) buddhist monk. He travels the world teaching Komyo ReikiDo with gentleness and humour. He also regularly teaches and hosts weekly practice groups in his home city of Kyoto in Japan. Komyo Reiki is based on Reiki Ryoho as was practised in Japan. This is a Japanese system based on the traditional Reiki mindset (the way of thinking). It is also based on the Japanese concept of 'less is more'. In saying this, Komyo ReikiDo is simple to practice but it provides a deep and profound healing of both mind and body. The purpose of Komyo ReikiDo is to strive for improvement of mind & body through Reiki Ryoho practice. With persistence, we cultivate a healthy and peaceful life, uplifting our spirituality and being. The name of Komyo Reiki Kai was changed to Komyo ReikiDo in October 2016. In Japanese, 'Do' (pronounced dough) may be translated as 'A Way' or 'A Path' when used in a spiritual context. The name was changed to reflect the spiritual emphasis of Komyo Reiki which opens the way to Satori (absolute inner peace) through Reiki Ryoho. The daily goal is to be healthy and happy which are outlined in the Gokai or Reiki Principles that Mikao Usui created for his students to follow, The practice motto is 'Place your hands, surrender and smile...' |
